Victoria Hollis received her M.S. and Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research examined how personal informatics (i.e., self-tracking technologies) impact mood regulation and self-perception. Later work looked at how people choose to trust system analytics about mood and impact this has on emotion appraisal. During the course of her Ph.D., she interned at Google conducting enterprise productivity research with the Hangouts Chat team and later studied the cost of context switches for software engineers as part of the Engineering Productivity Research team.
Separately, she has collaborated with other artists to create installations at Burning Man, Santa Cruz GLOW, and the bay area Maker Faire.
Victoria is currently located in San Francisco, California working as an experience researcher in the Adobe Design Research & Strategy team.
